Mountains can cause stress too?
Alright. I know even this question sounds insane, but by the end of this article, you will be on my side, trust me!
So, you’ve been to the mountains at least once in your life, right? What does it feel like to look deep in the clouds at a height where it’s just you and your solace? Crazy how these gigantic and misty pieces of rocks, bound together after hundreds of years of various geological processes, can make a human being feel various emotions. They are non-living, for crying out loud!
The positives (only)
We are only engrossed in the “happy” part of going to higher altitudes. Everyone around us is like, “let’s go to the mountains, your head will clear itself out”, which is true. I agree. The formidable slopes and snow-capped and rugged tops, they’re, no doubt, attract us like moths to light. Whether it’s with your family or friends, a trip to high altitudes can make your heart feel the warmest of hugs and your body will go in the cloud-9 (sometimes literally) state. Pure nirvana. You mentally jumped to the mountains already, didn’t you? Well just stay for 2 mins more, because in the next part I am going to reveal the serenity sometimes is masked.
YES, mountains can cause you stress too. Very few people can relate to this but I am speaking on behalf of everyone who hides this just because“society” won’t accept them if they say it out loud that they don’t like mountains because it takes a toll on their mental health. No, you are not crazy. It’s totally normal and OKAY.
So, stress? Exactly how?
It has nothing to do with the place outside, the 3d world. It’s because what’s within that pretty little head of yours. When you are mentally in a place that makes you feel exhausted, brain fried or physically distressed, then no matter where you are, the material world contributes nothing. NOTHING.

Reasons can be anything: unfinished business with people you love; relationship crisis and how can we forget the onset of Adulthood? There comes a phase (or phases) in your life when you feel stuck, more than usual. You try and try but your efforts also feel like a heavy job at this time. Let’s suppose in this mental health you plan a trip to the mountains to reset your mind and body, maybe you will feel good for a few hours, but slowly that pattern will follow you through the cracks of your brain. The picturesque places now seem like nothing but a void. A rotten home.
Because everything outside is the projection of your thoughts. What you see is you inside out.
What can you do about it? Everything.
You have to start from the inside. Whatever thoughts you carry ( fact is an average human generates 70,000-80,000 thoughts/day), make you. Try to respond to outer world situations, not react to them. Let me make it easy for you. By RESPONDING to a situation, you carry the mindset as: “Okay so this is not what I expected out of this. The results didn’t work out in my favor. I understand this. I am going to consider what it makes me feel and will take my time to process it.” So, after this your heart feels lighter, because instead of suppressing, you expressed. To yourself.
By REACTING, the mindset goes as: “Why did this happen to me? I didn’t expect this. Everything is ruined. I can’t deal with it anymore.” This way you didn’t express yourself and it all gets bottled up and anything not released comes later in worse ways.
My Two cents...
All of this sounds hard at first but if you take baby steps ,by just switching the way you show emotions toward various circumstances, it will definitely make a change in your life.
Thank you for staying to read it till here. All the best, you are strong enough to handle this.
