Think yourself a ZERO till 25
I am turning 25 in 4 months and honestly speaking, I feel ALRIGHT. I mean, yes there are moments when I go into perturbation thinking of all the things that I haven’t achieved in my 25 years of existence here, on Earth. Well, that’s quite normal, unlike how the world tries to portray it. ( all sad & excruciating)
Being slaves to the internet and doomscrolling, we witness people from all around the world, especially younger kids nowadays, achieving so much by the age they’re 21-22 years old. That genuinely gives me a strong punch in my core and I start wondering, “ Wish I would’ve done this or achieved that” and my brain starts burning up with the fire balls of thoughts I throw at myself. And what is my gain from all of this? NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. But obviously, unnecessary stress, body pain and excessive burden at trauma points of my body (especially neck).
This was me a year and a half back, but now I am content with who I am today and what I have achieved till date. There are many factors that play a serious role in shaping one’s life and their milestones. For some it might come at an age of as young as 18 and for some it can be 40, so what’s the whole point of measuring your own accomplishments by correlating them with your age?
So, here’s the simple trick that I have tried and tested and HIGHLY recommend for anyone who is stuck in the continuous loop of guilt and regret that their lives would’ve been different if they’ve worked extra hard in earlier stages of life.
“Think yourself as a ZERO till 25”, there is a term “Young-adults” which majorly stands on the negative side but in my view, it is good (exceptions are always there regarding in what context we are talking). Think of yourself as an adult (25 years old) who is just a 5 year old and still has TIME to step on the ladders of success. It is NEVER too late. If you are doing everything with the purest of intentions and heart, YOU WILL GET THERE. Trust me, you will.
So next time, if your brain drifts to those thoughts again, grab them and put them back on track and tell yourself or even scream if that makes your head feel lighter, “ I am just a 3/4/5 years old kid, who is going to rule the world. I am and I will always be, meant for what I want and what I deserve.”
